I LOVE this dryer. Bear in mind that I used my old one until it broke. It was an old Revlon that I bought about a decade ago. So it was definitely time for an upgrade. I'd been interested in getting one with tourmaline that's supposed to dry quicker with less damage since I have thick, semi-wavy frizzy hair. I found this at Costco for $14.99. It comes with a diffuser and concentrator nozzle attachments. Mine did not come with the hair pick but it sounds like I'm not missing much. I was interested in the diffuser but it is pretty much garbage. Just a matter of bad design: It allows way too much airflow to get smooth waves. Other than the diffuser, I am very pleased. It gets my hair dry super quick. Almost too quick. It's also fairly small, lightweight and quiet for it's power. I'll buy it again if it breaks.

I love this straightener, and this straightener only.
This is the red Conair Steam Straightener with built-in detangling combs, steam and 100% favoritism.
Makes my hair smooth and silky, takes only a short moment to heat up and with a little practice, can make big curls, even with its wide plates. I got mine for $100-120, it may be marked down a bit by now.
There are flaws with this straightener, like my steam resevoir is cracked and does not stay in, though its useful (to add a little extra smooth, hold and shine), it isn't completely necessary. Also, product build-up collects easily in the adjustable detangling combs.
I still absolutely love it!

I am happy with this dryer and like it a lot. I was surprised by the quality of it for a drugstore brand dryer but it dries really quickly. I have thick wavy hair btw. But this dryer makes my hair shiny and soft afterwards and its been easy to just do a blowdry, not with a round brush but just through my fingers and getting my hair to be 75% straight just doing that and then I can go over it quickly with a flat iron. I also have been able to use it for a blowdry with a round brush and it worked well too. I used a volume spray first but I was able to get a really voluminous blowout. I do feel that it was expensive for a drugstore brand dryer but not for a dryer in general. I don't use the other attachments because I don't really know how and I don't really need to use them anyhow.

This dryer/diffuser combo might be ok for straight hair types, but curly girls should stay away. And actually, the dryer itself is fine. The diffuser is so terrible, though, that it overshadows the dryer. The diffuser only works with this dryer -- it snaps and locks, so you can't use it on another dryer. And ladies, you wouldn't want to. The surface of the diffuser (flat part at the base of the fingers) is covered with silver metal. If you like to occasionally rest your hair on the diffuser to get volume, you'll scorch it with this dryer. But worst of all, the diffuser doesn't really diffuse. True, you can set it to produce more or less air. But there's a big old hole in the center of the diffuser that acts like a mini jet stream. Even on the lowest setting, my hair was moving around like crazy. I took this back the next day.

Age: 25-29 Skin: Normal, Fair-Medium, Cool Hair: Brown, Other, Medium Eyes: Brown

I was hunting for a months trying to find something to replace my old hairFRYer, and this is what I settled on. It caught my eye because of the straightening pik attachment, and I remembered reading good things about the Nano Silver line. Some of the other Conair dryers were heavy, bulky clunkers, and the dryers in the $200 range didn't seem to impress enought to warrant the price difference. I was also considering the Tony & Guy line at Shoppers, but I couldn't find any reviews, so I hesitated on those.
So here's how this dryer measures up. The weight of the Nano Silver is in the mid-range. It's no T3 Featherweight (I've been eyeing it at Sephora, and would purchase in a heartbeat if they sold it at Shoppers so I could use my points for it... sigh), but it's lighter than some of the behemoths out there. There are two speed settings and three heat settings - I find that the medium heat is hot enough for me, so you're likely to find a setting that works for you. I also wish the cold shot button would lock, but that's not my biggest concern. My concern is the useless straightening pik - it absolutely positively will not ever in a million years stay on. This wasn't a big surprise, all the reviews I had read mentioned that the pik falls off, but in the back of my mind I was thinking I could make it work. Well, you should've seen me in the bathroom on the first try, it was like I was doing toe-touches or something, I would have to go bob for it on the floor after every single stroke through my hair. I gave up in about a minute. Completely and utterly unbelievable that they would package such a thing. Even more unbelievable, the diffuser and concentrator snap into place on the barrel, so I don't understand why the pik was made to slip over instead of snapping in. Even those two could have used a better mechanism (turn and lock?), but at least they stay on.
I'm still giving this 3 stars because the dryer itself is fine (though not stellar, especially considering the only-average weight). I would return this if I could find something better in this price range, and I probably should return it out of principle, but I think I will suck it up and very secretly hope that it dies prematurely. continued >>
